Distance is not the same as absence.

I'm really excited to share something with you today, as I know there are so many people who could benefit from this beautiful resource.
Someone I've had the pleasure of working with has created a website and app for those of us who are no longer in contact with loved ones we deeply miss.
It's a place for all that love we still carry to go when we can't give it to them directly right now.
Some of you may know that last year we provided family kinship care for quite a few months. Unfortunately, after that care ended, contact was cut off, leaving a wound for myself, my husband and, most of all, our children.
I could go on all day about how broken the system is, but I also recognise that getting caught up in that headspace isn't particularly helpful for me or my family.
What I can focus on is the love we still have for these children, even though we can't share it with them directly at the moment.
This app is going to be a place where my family can express that love. Somewhere we can share photos, birthday and Christmas wishes, special memories and everything else in between.
I know this will be healing for us in the present, and my hope is that one day our niece and nephews will have the opportunity to receive these messages and see just how loved and thought of they've always been.
Sometimes we can't change our circumstances, but we can find meaningful ways to navigate them.
I would love for you to check out this beautiful resource and give it a follow if it feels like something that might support you or someone you know.
With gratitude,
Julz ❤️
